Agriculture Conservation Easement Program (ACEP)
For the past 3 years, The KKAC Organization has conducted outreach in Arkansas and Mississippi, educating minority farmers/landowners on helpful resources available to them through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
The Agriculture Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) offers eligible landowners the fair market value of their land for the exchange of a permanent easement. The landowner retains the title to their land but gives up the right to farm on the land. The land can still be used for recreational purposes such as duck hunting and can be sold with the easement on it. NRCS will apply a conservation plan, including the planting of trees and building of levies. When the trees mature, landowners are able to keep the profit of the harvest.
For further information, you can visit NRCS' website or give us a call and we'd be happy to discuss it with you.
